The MBA Hub
Exploring a global business perspective is an important tenet of the graduate business programs here at Portland State, and the School of Business Administration offers seven global study abroad opportunities to support this endeavor.
The trip includes a mix of class sessions, guest speakers and visits to companies and institutions. As part of the experience, students will explore the role of global capital markets, exchange rate risk, and financial controls as applied to the international firm.
Additional topics include political and economic risk, multilateral institutions and foreign trade. Through a combination of in-class instruction and tours to a variety of organizations in the financial services sector, students will also be exposed to the distinctive aspects of the financial markets in the Middle East.
"This year, the group will travel to Doha, Qatar and Kuwait City, Kuwait," says Rachel Foxhoven, Program Administrator for the School of Business Administration's Global Initiatives. "We are excited to make the trip to Kuwait for the first time this year, and will be having an alumni reception there."
