Congratulations to Berrin Erdogan, Portland State Professor of Management and the Express Employment Professionals Endowed Professor. She was appointed Fellow by the Society for Organizational Psychology (SIOP).
SIOP Fellow status is a prestigious honor granted to SIOP members who have shown evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions to the field of Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Industrial-organizational psychology is the scientific study of the workplace. Rigor and methods of psychology are applied to issues of critical relevance to business, including talent management, coaching, assessment, selection, training, organizational development, performance, and work-life balance.
Professor Erdogan's work in this area explores employee effectiveness, retention, and well-being. Specifically, she examines relational leadership, a sense of justice, and person-environment fit as drivers of workplace behavior and well being.
She is also interested in understanding the implications of overqualification for employees and organizations. Her studies have been published in leading academic journals including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and Journal of Management. The two textbooks she coauthored on Organizational Behavior and Principles of Management are currently used in undergraduate and graduate classes in more than 100 universities around the world.
An active writer and editor, Professor Erdogan serves as an associate editor for European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology. She is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Psychology.

Professor of International Management Sully Taylor, along with Joyce Osland and Carolyn Egri, was the editor of a special issue on Human Resource Management’s (HRM) role in sustainability. In addition to editing the issue, Professor Sully contributed “Guest Editors’ Introduction: Introduction to HRM’s Role in Sustainability: Systems, Strategies, and Practices” to the volume. The special issue appeared in the November/December edition of the journal Human Resource Management.
